Monday morning and instead of doing our morning routine we went into the haula to do the flag ceremony, there was prayer and singing of Indonesian anthem. It was remarkable, the pupils are also serious on doing it, I think it's because they know what they arendoing, they know how significant it is. A flag ceremony like that if compared in the Philippines is done by the scouts and military that's why I'm really amazed.
After it, we go back to our respective classrooms. Ibu Putu, the principal went to the classroom to teach the students how to read and write. I learned that Indonesia and Philippines have difference in writing technique, Indonesia uses boxes to teach a students how to write, while in the Philippines it's not boxes that you will see in their writing notebook but lines of red and black and so on. They might have different techniques and system, what important is they learn writing. In terms of reading, I've noticed that in their age, almost all of them knows already how to read.
